Ryanair will operate 800 flights a week to 88 destinations from Veneto airports: here's the operating schedule for summer 2024

Summer is approaching and for this Ryanair continues to announce operations for various Italian airports. 

The Irish airline reported that it will operate more than 800 flights a week from the Veneto airports to 88 destinations, including. 5 new: London e Tirana (from Treviso), Madrid e Valencia (from Verona), e Reggio Calabria (from Venice). 

Ryanair has announced that it will increase its offerings at Treviso and Verona airports during summer 2024 - only in which it will operate 61 routes-and expects to carry more than 4 million passengers. The same cannot be said, however, for the Venice airport: The Irish carrier has decided to Cut back on flights and put its growth plans on hold - offering only 27 destinations - Due to the decision of the municipality of Venice to increase access fees for tourists.

"As the No. 1 airline in Europe and Italy, Ryanair is pleased to announce its largest S24 operation to the Veneto region with a total of 88 routes, including five new routes to London, Madrid, Tirana, Reggio Calabria and Valencia, and more than 800 weekly flights. Unfortunately, the growth in Treviso and Verona contrasts with the reduction in Venice, where the city's illogical decision to increase the municipal surtax (tourism tax) by 38% has negatively impacted Venetians and Venice's recovering tourism industry, losing valuable overnight stays to neighboring airports such as Bologna and Trieste. This summer Ryanair will grow in Treviso and Verona, operating 61 routes (including 4 new routes) and carrying over 4 million passengers. Meanwhile, in neighboring Venice, Ryanair will reduce flights and put its growth plans on hold with only 27 routes due to the City Council's foolish decision to raise access fees for the 38%. The City of Venice's decision to increase access fees for passengers stands in stark contrast to that of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which removed the municipal surtax (tourism tax) as of Jan. 1, 2024, bringing a significant increase in traffic, local employment, and regional profits. Ryanair responded promptly to the removal of the tax in Trieste by opening a new base ($100 million investment) and recording 50% growth, with 8 new routes. We call on the City of Venice to immediately stop this absurd tax increase to make Venice competitive again for the benefit of its tourism industry and ultimately its residents. This will allow Ryanair to resume its ambitious growth plans to stimulate annual connectivity, create jobs local and generate local wealth. We also call on the Italian state to eliminate the municipal surtax (tourism tax) from all airports Italians to stimulate capacity growth and reduce passenger fares. If the Italian government abolished the tax, Ryanair would respond with a $4 billion investment in Italy, adding 40 new aircraft, more than 20 million annual passengers, and more than 250 new routes.
