Emirates unveils new wine selection for first class passengers (and beyond)

Anniversaries are important and should be celebrated. Therefore, on the occasion of May 25 - World Wine Day - Emirates (which is the airline with the largest on-board wine cellar ever) presented "Icons of Fine Wine": first class passengers, starting this summer, will be able to taste even rarer labels and vintages.

On flights departing from Dubai and bound for to the United Kingdom and the Americas first-class passengers will be able to savor - in June and July - a Dom Pérignon Rosé 2008 and a Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles 2014, French white wine. Those who, on the other hand, fly first from Dubai to Australia between June and October will be able to enjoy Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay 2019, a single varietal white wine made from Chardonnay produced in southern Australia.

To understand the rarity and prestige of these labels, suffice it to say that a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé 2008 costs no less than €400; to buy one of Louis Latour Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles from 2014 you have to shell out over €500; the price for a bottle of Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay 2019, on the other hand, is around €200. So, just to say.

As for the reds, instead,  during the summer of 2024 Emirates will celebrate France, Italy, Spain and the U.S. with several labels from as many vintages. First-class passengers flying from Dubai to any destination in continental Europe from June to mid-December will get to enjoy an M. Chapoutier Ermitage Rouge Le Pavillon from 2012; those flying in the same reds during June and July, on the other hand, will also enjoy a Vega Sicilia Unico 2006 Ribera del Duero from the iconic Spanish winery founded in 1864.

From May 2024 to January 2025, in addition, those who fly in Emirates First Class From Dubai to Italy (Rome, Milan, Bologna or Venice), will have the opportunity to savor a Brunello di Montalcino 2010, one of our country's most iconic labels. Always speaking of Italy, Those who choose to fly from Milan to New York can enjoy a 2012 Ornellaia, one of Tuscany's most celebrated and appreciated wines. Finally, passengers of first flying from Dubai to North America will be able to taste Opus One Napa Valley 2012. 

What about business and economy class customers? They, too, will get to discover and taste fine wines.

Business class will be served a selection of 2009 reds: les Tourelles de Longueville 2009 on routes from Dubai to the United Kingdom and the Americas; Sociando-Mallet 2009 on European routes; Château Lagrange 2009 on Middle East routes; and Larrivet Haut-Brion 2009 on Far East routes; and passengers will also be able to taste Crognolo 2021, a Spanish label (2021 vintage). 

Premium economy passengers will have the choice of a selection of bubbly, reds, and whites; in coach class, however, the offer includes a white or red.
