After ordering, almost a year ago, well 500 Airbus A320 family, and after signing up for the purchase of about 30 A350s, the news in the house IndiGo are not over: it is news in the last few hours that the Indian low-cost airline-the country's first airline by domestic traffic-intends to Introduce a business class in their cabins.
This novelty-which, let's face it, no one expected since IndiGo is a low-cost company-will be introduced By the end of 2024 in India's "busiest routes," the carrier announced. It remains to be seen, however, what kind of business class will be: Will the vacant middle seat simply be offered, in the usual configuration with 3 seats on each side? Or will IndiGo opt for a 2-2 configuration, which offers more space and comfort and is more premium? And more: will IndiGo start offering meals to business passengers, or will the service remain pay-as-you-go?

These are all questions that cannot yet be answered; however, it is likely that more details will be unveiled at the end of the summer-perhaps in August, on the anniversary of IndiGo's founding-more details will be revealed.
Founded in 2005, IndiGo is India's largest airline in terms of fleet and number of passengers carried. Today IndiGo is led by Pieter Elbers (former No. 1 at KLM) and operates a fleet of 372 aircraft: 33 Airbus A320ceo, 198 A320neo, 94 A321neo, 45 ATR72-600 and 2 Boeing 777-300ER; then, starting from the end of 2024, IndiGo's fleet will also be joined by new Airbus A321XLR, which will enable the company to connect India with Europe and parts of Southeast Asia.
