For the past few weeks Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France KLM, has launched a major status match campaign. The level equalization is a marketing strategy designed to "entice" frequent flyers from competing airlines to try the services offered and perhaps convince themselves to change their habits.

After the first article, I received several questions about this activity and so I thought I would write a second article to explain the main reasons why you should join this proposal.
Who can apply for status match
In order to take advantage of this opportunity you must have a loyalty card in one of the various frequent flyer programs covered by the offer. As usual, Skyteam airline cards, i.e., the same alliance as Air France KLM, are not affected dq this proposal. Details of the required cards are here.
Status Match, frequently asked questions
Before going into detail, I answer the various doubts that might arise
- If you get the MS you will not lose the program card used for the challenge, you will not have any problems with the company and/or suffer any retaliation
- It is not convenient to try to "cheat the system", sure you can create a fake card in 5 minutes, or change the expiration date of a card you have. Companies have cross-checking systems precisely to avoid situations like this, the risk is to be banned for life

Obtaining status "simplifies" renewal
The great thing about Flying Blue's regulation is. the road to obtaining the level is longer than the road to renewal, this means that If you take advantage of this campaign one will have the opportunity to renew status more easily.
For example, to get the Gold level you need to accumulate 100 XP + 180XP over 12 months, to renew the status you only need to accumulate 180XP.
Thanks to soft landing, status lasts longer
If you have the opportunity to obtain the Platinum level., the maximum of this MS camapgna, you will have the level for 12 months, then even if you do not make a single qualifying flight for another 12 months you will have the Gold level and in the end you can have for one more year the Silver level. If ITA and LUfthansa's marriage is confirmed, one of the first consequences will be leaving Skyteam and joining Star Alliance.
