In our secret Facebook group, however, it happens that our readers also tell their adventures (sometimes even misadventures) around the world. Today it is the turn of Max - whom we salute and thank for sharing his story - which leads us to Vienna, aboard Austrian Airlines. His is an affair that, undoubtedly, could have ended much worse. Instead.
Max's flight to the Austrian capital was delayed, which threatened to make the skip the connection for Malpensa. Things happen, of course: the problem, however, lies in the fact that the next day our reader would have wanted to celebrate his birthday with family. The idea of being alone in an airport hotel room on that important day did not sit well with him, rightly so; fortunately for him, however, things went better than expected.
Once he landed in Vienna, however, he found a surprise: a minivan parked under the plane waiting to accompany the many travelers (including him) who were in danger of missing their connecting flight. Boarding the VIE-MXP, then, our reader joked with a flight attendant about the fact that because of "their fault" he had risked missing the flight that would take him home: "we could never have done this to her on the night of her birthday", replied to our Max - not a little astonished - the kind hostess.
But that is not all. About ten minutes after boarding the flight that would finally take him back to his family, Max gets another surprise: the kindly flight attendant mentioned above, accompanied by one of her colleagues, appears to our reader with a tray containing some snacks, an Austrian-branded cadeau, and even a small bottle of champagne and a greeting card.
