In recent days, a reader pointed out to me how. our success stories relate almost exclusively to American Express and the points Membership Rewards, and in fact he has a point although we recently told how a reader, thanks to Miles&More promos and Mastercard Gold, was able to redeem a trip aboard Lufthansa.
In this article:
The reader's name is Daniele, he lives in Rimini, and after discovering the Mooncard as a corporate payment method began to use it "intensively," even implementing a couple of ploys that he wanted to tell me about in a chat.
Mooncard, Daniel's experience
Mooncard is a French fintech created to simplify the management of corporate payments. There are many startups that have sprung up around the world in this area, but what is special about the transalpine company is that it has combined everything with an agreement that turns every euro the company spends with these cards into Flying Blue miles.
Daniele's company operates in the renewable energy sector, and the strategy set was to adopt Mooncard as a means of payment replacement for the Nexi card provided by the bank.
"The first reason is the virtually unlimited ceiling - explains Daniel-I explained that I would have to make 4-figure transactions to pay my suppliers, and Mooncard's personal assistant gave me a green light up to over 100k euros. Of course I could have also made a transfer to the supplier, but that way you don't get points, so for me the game is worth the candle."
Daniel, who has been a customer for over a year, has also found clever ways to take advantage of the features of the software provided by Mooncard.
"I take a lot of advantage of the virtual cards that can be created directly from the system for spot, secure and fast payments. I have two suppliers who do not give me the ability to remotely pay invoices electronically, but they have corporate pos. My solution has been to Issue two additional cards at a cost of €5/month each. I have sent the card to the two trusted vendors and when I need to make payments, even tens of thousands, all I do is enable the cards through the software and ask the supplier to make the payment on their POS. Et voila hundreds of miles away payment made, and points credited in a few days."
"The other essential function is the ability to add the card on Apple Wallet. All my employees have the card on their devices, so they can make business payments such as gasoline, travel expenses and various suppliers without having to apply for other cards."
At the end of the first year, Daniel was able to redeem the first prize tickets with the points obtained exclusively using Mooncard.
"The choice fell on Air France and we will fly to Miami in business class, tickets taken at 50k points each way plus taxes. The main advantage is the difference between earning FB points with Mooncard versus Membership Rewards. In the former case you get 1.5 FB for every euro spent, while with Amex every euro yields 0.66 FB points, a considerable difference."
Now we just have to wait for Daniele's review aboard Air France business class, a story that will be added to that of many other readers who Have shared with us experiences around the world.
