Every time I get on an airplane, I always hope to take home a good memory, a new and telling experience, and to compare with what other airlines offer. Today I'm talking about a real surprise I had on board the LOT, the Polish flag carrier, and which will soon be the subject of video review on the YT channel.

I have already flown to/from the Japan with many companies and excluding All Nippon Airways, I have to say. LOT Polish Airlines was the first to offer a true Japan experience Style Regarding catering.
Two menus are offered on both the outward and return flights, with two choices for the main course each. I, after asking the flight attendant for advice, opted to take the Asian version on the flight out of Tokyo.

It is quite obvious to aim for the local dish prepared by "locals", for example, I always eat pasta on board on ITA Airways and exclusively on flights departing from Fiumicino, and I must say that I have not been disappointed at all.
Meticulous service
Let it be a constant in the gastronomic offerings of LOT, which I remind you flies daily from Warsaw to Tokyo Narita, you can tell by the "china" that is, the whole set that is used to serve the two meals. Everything is strictly branded LOT and everything is thought out down to the last detail. In contrast on carriers like Emirates or ITA they give you the same china and chopsticks in addition to cutlery.
The Bento Box Surprise
Anyone who has been to Japan, but also anyone who has seen a few episodes of a Japanese cartoon knows very well what a "bento box" is, Is the local version of the schiscetta, or the lunch box for school, work, or travel that every Japanese person makes at home or buys on the go.
If you take the Shinkansen, it is practically mandatory to buy a bento at the station to take as lunch on board.
Here what LOT offers is absolutely comparable, and passengers are just served in this mode. A box arrives along with the cup with miso soup and chopsticks.
Of course at home, or in a restaurant you get your box composed any way you want, but here there is a little bit of everything. Ever-present of course is the rice, the vegetables, the chicken and fish, all the way to the cupcake, which is traditionally made of sweet beans. All good to look at and good to eat, as good as the Japanese dinner that beat 3 to 0 the European food proposal I took for the outbound flight from Warsaw to Tokyo.
In conclusion
Really good idea, well executed and especially tasty. Which is not a given aboard an airplane.
