In Italy, the Green Pass has been the topic du jour for several weeks now. The discussion is more heated than ever, considering that it will become mandatory in the workplace as well. One therefore wonders what the situation is in the rest of Europe. Does the green certificate have the same relevance elsewhere? Is there an obligation to show the now well-known QR Code? Let's take a look at the major nations of the old continent.

United Kingdom

In this article:

Boris Johnson's government had announced the arrival of mandatory Green Pass by the end of September. There has been a resounding backtrack, however. The citizens of the United Kingdom do not have to present the QR code to participate in nightlife inside venues or take part in concerts and sporting events. The exception, however, is Scotland, which has announced the introduction of a mandatory green certificate as of October 1, 2021.

    Denmark

The news of theAbolition of all measures related to the Covid-19 emergency in Denmark. Thus, we are back to life as we knew it in 2019, after 548 days of restrictions. It goes without saying that there is no need to show the Green Pass to access certain types of services. The big push in that direction has been the high adherence to the vaccination campaign. In fact, more than 80% of the population has completed the cycle.

    France

The line imposed by the French government is very similar to that of Italy. The Green Pass is crucial and especially mandatory. One must have to show the QR code for shows, sporting events, festivals, indoor areas of bars and restaurants, trains, planes and hospitals. In addition, since Sept. 15, mandatory vaccination (full cycle) for health personnel has been in effect. Given the increase in the number of vaccinated, however, the requirement to wear a mask, outdoors as well as indoors, has been skipped.

    Germany and Austria

It is also necessary to show the code at cultural and sporting events, as long as a quota of 1,000 participants is exceeded if outdoors or 500 if indoors.

    Belgium
