When will Vietnam reopen
After a slight reopening to international flights to and from a list of 12 countries, Vietnam reported, through official government channels, that a more massive easing of restrictions on foreign visitors would be activated "no later than April 30." But as early as February 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin clarified that the reopening could take place "ideally at the end of March". A few hours ago it was announced that Vietnam will remove restrictions on the number of international flights in and out of all markets starting Feb. 15, restoring frequency to pre-pandemic levels. Dinh Viet Son, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, confirmed that Vietnam will end restrictions on international flights starting Feb. 15, allowing flight frequency to be restored to pre-pandemic levels.
This date coincides with the date when the government plans to complete the vaccination cycle for the entire adult population. At the same time, Vietnam also plans to promote Singapore in its Vaccinated Travel Lane, along with Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand: this means that travelers with full vaccination will be able to move between these countries with no obligation to quarantine upon arrival. Vietnam had already begun a gradual resumption of international flights since the beginning of this year by relaxing quarantine requirements. In particular, vaccinated passengers now need only three days of self-quarantine.

The requirements for entering Vietnam
Vietnam is supposedly becoming accessible again to international tourists, including those from Italy. However, the reopening of the Asian country is bound to certain criteria that travelers will have to comply with. Namely:
- Be fully vaccinated (third dose) for at least 14 days prior to arrival
- Come from one of the 79 nations whose vaccinations Vietnam recognizes (including Italy)
- Show a negative PCR test for Covid-19 performed within 72 hours prior to arrival, or give evidence of being cured of Covid within the past six months
- Possess health insurance that covers treatment against Covid-19, with a minimum coverage of US$50,000
I children under 12 years old are exempt from the vaccination requirements. They will still have to show a negative test dated no more than 72 hours before arrival; while the children under 2 years old will not have to show the test either. Of course, in both cases they will have to be accompanied by adults, who will have to meet the above requirements instead.
In addition to this, travelers arriving from countries that are not part of the Vaccinated Travel Lane will have to observe a short quarantine period upon arrival, amounting to three days of self-isolation.
