The premium economy on some Emirates' A380 arrived in December 2020. Since then, some of the giants of the skies, the latest to be delivered by Airbus to the Dubai-based carrier, have been touring in recent months without selling these seats, but offering them for free to travelers.

Last month, however, the company announced that as of today, June 1, tickets would go on sale on the first routes where the revolutionary premium economy cabin will be offered. Right on time on the company's website, premium economy has popped up among the bookable travel classes.

Initially this cabin will be offered on only a few routes to Dubai: from London, Paris, and Sydney. Gradually with the redesign, there will be more planes where it can be found and thus the list of destinations served will be expanded.
Difference between Economy and Premium Economy
We have talked several times about the differences between these two classes of travel and since the outbreak of the pandemic, companies have seen a renewed interest from passengers in the "middle" seat. This is why so many carriers have announced the installation of these cabins and/or the renewal of those in their fleets.
Important: Not all flights from the routes in question will have a PE booth, for example, of the three daily flights from Paris to Dubai, there will currently only be on one flight per day.
No bar on board
Unfortunately, premium economy passengers will not have access to the bar on board the A380, which is reserved only for business class and first class customers.
How much does the new cabin cost
To date, Emirates' A380s were configured with first class, business and economy. This new cabin fits between economy and business class.
The ticket price is less than €1,000 one way, more than twice as much as the economy cabin and significantly lower than the business cabin. Since the passenger in this new class will not enjoy the benefits of business customers such as lounge access, in-flight bar, dining and service it is only fair to compare the differences between the two economy cabins.
PE passenger has the opportunity to check heavier baggage, choose seat on board, and earn more Skywards points compared to the occupants of economy class.
At the moment unfortunately it is not possible to reserve a PE seat using Skywards points, That is, Emirates' loyalty program. It has to be seen if this will be incorporated in the coming days/weeks.
