I had never been to Argentina, the purpose of this trip was to fly For the first time aboard ITA Airways' A350., it was supposed to be a normal flight and instead became an incredible experience. Second only to my La Premiere ticket with Air France.

Having no time to study and decide where it was best to stay I played it safe by choosing this Park Tower Hotel, which is part of the banner The Luxury Collection of the group Marriott. The reason is that I felt it was located in an interesting area and close to the subway: traffic in Buenos Aires can be hellish, so being able to get around quickly is definitely an advantage.

    Reservation

I recently became Platinum Elite, the most interesting Marriott level because of the benefits it offers. Until now I had always been only Gold, a level included for free in the American Express Platinum monthly fee.

As usual, the advice is always only one: book through the official website and/or app, this way you get points and benefits provided by the status.

The cost of the room was not cheap, just under 200€, but it is a 5-star hotel and the service was super professional. I could have also booked using Bonvoy points, but I am still drained after dipping into my piggy bank to book the Ritz Carlton in Cancun And many other hotels.

    Location

The hotel is located just across the street from the Monumental Tower, on the opposite side from the Buenos Aires Central Station.

    IMG_3541 IMG_3538 IMG_3539

From the hotel on foot and within minutes you can reach the Marina and many famous places in the city such as Plaza de Mayo, where the Casa Rosada, the seat of the Government of the Argentine Republic, is located. The pedestrian shopping area and many other tourist destinations in the capital.

The hotel is a tower attached to the Sheraton, another Marriott family property. They are separate, but Tower guests can also take advantage of the Sheraton's facilities.

    Check-in

I arrived a few minutes after 8 a.m. I was ready to be told that the room would not be ready for a few hours.

There is no reception desk, but elegant desks where one sits to do paperwork. Thanks to status I was found a room available immediately, with simultaneous upgrade to a higher level: by 8:30 a.m. I was already in the room.

    The room

The Luxury Collection, the name implies, is a chain that focuses on luxury. Hotels are never very large, precisely to try to provide a more personal service to the guest.

Numerous works of art and antiques are scattered throughout the hotel, and in general everything is tastefully decorated, although I personally prefer more modern luxury such as that offered by the W sign in the Marriott world.

The room was large, unfortunately no suite despite the status, but I can't complain at all.

Great king bed, but Barbieri would have been disappointed to discover that a topper was missing to make the experience perfect.

    IMG_3502 IMG_3497 IMG_3498 IMG_3509 IMG_3508 IMG_3507

A perfect desk for smartworking and a comfortable sofa for relaxing after an intense day out and about in the city.

The bathroom is also perfect, with double sinks and a choice of separate tub and shower. Dulcis in fundo, the Italian soul of Argentina is also seen in the presence of the bidet.

    The surprise

The beauty of having status in these hotel chains is that you are always rewarded. For example, the Platinum Elite offers free breakfast (20$ minimum value), late check out at 4 p.m., and many other small treats.

When I returned to the room on the first night, I found a letter from the Guest Relations manager.

Accompanied by 4 exquisite chocolates and an excellent bottle of Argentine wine. Chapeau.

    Services

As mentioned, the hotel is connected to the Sheraton, and guests can take advantage of the services offered

There is a fitness aera with an outdoor pool, which is closed at this time because it is 5 degrees here in June.

    IMG_3533 IMG_3534 IMG_3532

There is a small indoor pool, operational with lifeguard even though there was no one inside. A fairly well-stocked gym and spa.

Then there is something I have never found in a hotel before, which is a series of Padel courts: hotel guests have the opportunity to take advantage of a guaranteed reservation for a game of this sport that has been so popular lately.

    The lounge

Guests who have booked a room with MClub access, i.e., lounges at Marriott hotels, and those with at least Platinum status in the Bonvoy loyalty program can take advantage of 10 to 8 p.m. lounge access.

Here it is still called the Sheraton Lounge. It is located on the 22nd floor of the Sheraton and offers incredible views of the city of Buenos Aires.

    IMG_3515 IMG_3516 IMG_3517 IMG_3519 IMG_3526 IMG_3523 IMG_3522 IMG_3521 IMG_3520

It is possible to relax, have a snack (or even a rich aperitif) all for free for guests who have the right of access. This service is one of those benefits that, thanks to the status, allows the guest to save tens of euros during the stay. A drink, a quick meal, a cappuccino.

These are all expenses that you will not have to incur precisely because of the free use of the lounge, just like at the airport.

    Food & Beverage

Breakfast is served on the third floor of the tower. Again, it is noticeable from the size of the room that the hotel is not designed to accommodate hundreds of people.

The immense window gives excellent lighting to the dining room, and the fact that it is on several levels allows all guests to enjoy what is happening outside in the chaos of this city. I had breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, a time that allowed me to eat in peace and quiet, without the noise of traffic.

    IMG_3551
    IMG_3552 IMG_3553 IMG_3554 IMG_3555 IMG_3556

The buffet is not huge, but there is everything that needs to be there, and what is not there can be ordered from the many staff in the room.

I must say that the quality of the product offered was really good, including the drinks: from freshly squeezed fruit juice to sparkling wine, for those who prefer to start the morning with bubbles for breakfast.

    In conclusion

Of course it is not cheap, but we are talking about a 5-star hotel in the center of Buenos Aires. The price difference with the Sheraton is only a few euros, at least when I booked that was the case, and between the two I would definitely choose this one since you have the advantage of using the other's facilities.
