Norse Atlantic Airways, a carrier that rose from the ashes of Norwegian, has announced a new direct flight between Rome Fiumicino and New York JFK. Rome becomes the fifth European capital served directly by Norse from New York JFK with a daily flight starting June 19, 2023.

Late night flight
The schedules are not really the best since the flight Will depart Rome at 7:30 p.m. and land at JFK at 11 p.m., the return flight will depart JFK at 01:00 a.m. and land in Rome at 3:45 p.m. Given the time for customs and transfer unlikely to arrive in Manhattan before 1 a.m., sure the New York subway is open h24, but it is not the best to get around at that hour with luggage and children. In contrast, the return flight is perfect because leaving in the middle of the night allows 100% to enjoy the last day in the Big Apple.

Norse Atlantic operates exclusively with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with two layouts, Economy and Premium. The Premium cabin configuration features seats with a 43-inch pitch and a 12-inch recline. Light fares are Norse's value option, while Plus fares include a maximum baggage allowance, two meal services, an enhanced airport and on-board experience, and greater ticket flexibility.
Tickets are already on sale, but definitely out of the market, as prices start at 943 $ for a light fare round trip ticket that does not even include trolley to be checked into cabin, no flexibility, no choice of seat or lunch on board. Price going up about 200$ if you add luggage and lunch.
The seat ranges in cost from 35$ to 120 each way and that must be added to the ticket price.
In the past we have seen offers for tickets as low as 105$ one way, here at this figure is definitely competitive certainly not at 1000€ round trip.
