On March 2, Virgin Atlantic will join Skyteam, a real revolution for a company that for years has been inaccessible to the world of Italian reward travelers. In anticipation of this important event date the Flying Club, or VS loyalty program, has launched an offer that allows you to book award tickets between February 19 and 28 at a discount of 30%.

The rules are simple you have to Book ticket between Feb. 16 and Feb. 28 to travel by May 31, 2023
Unfortunately, the taxes and surcharges charged by Virgin on award tickets are really high, for example a US/UK ticket charges over 800$ in Upper Class taxes, a real drain.

Some examples
It is possible to fly from Florida to London in economy aboard the brand new A330/900neo from 8700 points plus taxes for an economy ticket to rise to 33,200 points for the new upper class version.
Flying from New York to London costs even less, economy tickets cost 7,000 points each way, 12,200 premium economy seats, and always 33,200 points are needed to fly upper class in this case aboard the flagship A350/1000, while I strongly advise against flying aboard the 787s or older A330s.
