Ryanair launches new summer route from Palermo to Parma
The airline will operate more than 575 weekly flights through summer 2023

After the new routes from Trapani-Marsala to Naples and Porto, Ryanair recently announced its Biggest ever summer operation for Palermo with 40 routes, including 1 new route to Parma and increased frequencies on more than 15 existing routes including Bari, Bologna, Dublin, Marseille, Milan, Naples, Trieste, Valencia, Venice, Vienna And many others.

This new operating is supported by Ryanair's commitment to Sicily, where it will base 5 aircraft at Palermo Airport ($500m investment), supporting over 3,100 jobs, including 150 direct.
We have worked closely with our partners at Palermo Airport to ensure this growth and improve services for those who live, work or wish to visit Palermo. Ryanair has proven to be a reliable partner for Palermo Airport, being the only major carrier growing at the airport over Summer 2019, while others reduce capacity or close bases. Ryanair also recently unveiled its extraordinary growth proposal for Sicily, and we hope to positively engage with the Sicilian government to offer even more routes, connectivity, jobs, and lower fares for the island. Ryanair is the only airline that can grow traffic, connectivity, and tourism for Sicily. As Sicily now competes directly with other major Mediterranean tourist destinations such as Malta, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cyprus and the Greek islands, Sicily's number one priority should be to further develop its year-round tourism product by reducing access costs through the abolition of the tourism tax (i.e., the municipal surtax) , which is detrimental to the island economy. We hope for a quick positive response to our growth proposal that would guarantee 1.5 million more inbound passengers and 1.5 billion extra tourism spending per year, while supporting 1,200 more local jobs.
