Fiumicino Airport lands in the center of Rome. Just today, Wednesday, May 15, the "Airport in the City", the new service of off-airport check-in: in a nutshell, passengers flying from FCO with ITA Airways (to any destination except the U.S. and Israel) may Check in and drop off their checked luggage at Rome's Termini station, the largest station in our country as well as one of the busiest in Europe.

Passengers will be able to take advantage of "Airport in the city" everyday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as long as their flight is scheduled on the same day-a novelty that will especially please tourists, who will thus be able to enjoy the last hours of their vacation in the Capital.
The "Airport in the City" post. is located within the commercial area of Roma Termini station, in the vicinity of track 24 from which the Leonardo Express, the non-stop service that connects Termini station and Fiumicino airport in just over 30 minutes.
The new service is reminiscent, in part, of theFCO Connect which we have already written about in recent months: if, however, in order to take advantage of FCO Connect, it is necessary to have a combined air-train ticket (flight operated by ITA + connection operated by Trenitalia), on the contrary to take advantage of the new "Airport in the City" it will be enough to have an ITA flight ticket in your pocket.
Present at the opening of "Airport in the City" at Termini station were the top management of ADR, the president of ITA Airways Antonino Turicchi, the president of ENAC Pierluigi Di Palma, the regional councilor of Lazio Fabrizio Ghera, the president of Unindustria Angelo Camilli, President of Unindustria; closing the proceedings was the speech of the Minister for Tourism.
