Ego Airways made its first flight on March 30, 2021. A historic date for the new Italian airline, which celebrated this milestone by traveling from Catania to Parma. It was a very important christening, coming just months before the summer that will hopefully jumpstart the tourism industry.

Once the inaugural flights are behind us, Ego Airways will kick into full swing from the May 28, 2021. Dense schedule of connections regarding Italian routes, which we have already had the opportunity to highlight in this full carrier analysis. These are joined by two more homegrown ones.
As every year, Sardinia will be one of Italy's top vacation destinations. The fact that it has been the only white region in our country will only increase bookings, offering tourists natural beauty, entertainment and also a general sense of security. Ego Airways will also offer a connection to Olbia Emerald Coast.

Here is the program:
- Florence Peretola-Olbia Costa Smeralda: 5 weekly connections (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Forlì Luigi Ridolfi-Olbia Costa Smeralda: 3 connections per week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Ego Airways will also provide two connections with Comiso, in Sicily, operational from June 2021:
- Florence Peretola-Comiso: 2 connections per week (Monday and Wednesday)
- Forlì Luigi Ridolfi-Comiso: 1 weekly connection (Sunday)
The desire to grow quickly is clear, since foreign destinations are already being looked at, despite the company's young age. As of today, it is possible to purchase tickets to fly to Ibiza e Mykonos:

- Florence Peretola-Ibiza: 2 weekly connections (Friday and Saturday)

Also in 2021 and if there is an opportunity, the company will also attempt the opening of European routes from secondary airports. The idea is to offer a dual service right away, in relation to work commitments and the vacation mood.
An initially limited fleet of two Embraer 190 aircraft is set to grow. The short-term goal is to reach quota 8 aircraft in 2022. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that for the latest required models we may switch to theE195.
Tickets on sale
It is already possible to book your own tickets. All while taking advantage of rather attractive fares. Ego Airways offers two price ranges: Just Go e Private. In the first case it starts from a minimum of 48.90 euros. In the second, however, the minimum required is 98.90 euros. The main difference between one solution and the other is the type of seat in the cabin.
In the course of booking or checking in, however, you can enrich your experience. Ego allows you to customize the services available to you, opting for a special menu, a private car for transportation to and from the airport, and more.
The debut of Ego Airways.
The new homegrown carrier was christened, as usual, by the strong jet of water unleashed on the runway by firefighters. Round trip with theEmbraer 190, renamed "Martina". A name certainly not chosen at random. It is in fact a dedication to the daughter of Marco Busca, the entrepreneur behind the project. On the carrier's official website, the hashtag was launched. #EGOname and the tag @egoairways, thus leaving it up to social media to decide the names of the other two aircraft in the fleet. Active voting from March 24 to April 10.
An ambitious plan, which has already led to an important agreement. Ego Airways is the official carrier of Napoli Calcio. An important help at such a time: "We found ourselves the pandemic along the way. Being a start-up, we cannot enjoy the financial aid that companies that have suffered serious damage in recent months receive. We hang in there and are confident that we can open up new market areas."
