Here at TFC, we have repeatedly told Because we love this company, the best low-cost in the world, and why, when we fly to the U.S., it's the first place we look for a ticket. And now Southwest provides us with extra motivation to choose it. In fact, the U.S. carrier has announced an investment over the next few years of more than two billion dollars that will be used to increase its service.
This investment is designed to improve and simplify customer journeys, from booking to airport transit and during the flight, providing an even more pleasant, efficient and productive customer experience.
In detail, here is how Southwest will invest this large sum of money:
- Improved Wi-Fi connectivity on board aircraft;
- On-board installation of the latest technology power ports to charge personal devices anywhere;
- Installation of a new type of hat rack that is more spacious and convenient to use;
- Launch of a new fare category with greater flexibility and value, Wanna Get Away PlusTM;
- Increased content available on the onboarding portal
- A wider selection of beverages and snacks in the cabin
"You can never stop working to improve, and as our beloved founder Herb said, 'If you rest on your laurels, you will get a thorn in your ass!' We have a long and proud history of offering legendary customer service and warm hospitality, and we have bold plans and significant investments to modernize and improve the Southwest Experience," said Bob Jordan, chief executive officer.
In conclusion
Since Southwest's flights can take several hours, the absence of power outlets or USB ports was a real problem. Especially considering the fact that on board airplanes wi-fi is free and allows you to watch live TV, movies, and other content. Sure, a battery pack solves the problem, but being able to plug directly into the plane is more convenient and requires significantly less stress on the passenger.
